Repliee Q1 (at left in both pictures) appeared yesterday at the 2005 World Expo in Japan, where she gestured, blinked, spoke, and even appeared to breathe. Shown with co-creator Hiroshi Ishiguru of Osaka University, the android is partially covered in skinlike silicone. Q1 is powered by a nearby air compressor, and has 31 points of articulation in its upper body.
Internal sensors allow the android to react "naturally." It can block an attempted slap, for example. But it's the little, "unconscious" movements that give the robot its eerie verisimilitude: the slight flutter of the eyelids, the subtle rising and falling of the chest, the constant, nearly imperceptible shifting so familiar to humans.
Surrounded by machines that draw portraits, swat fast-moving balls, and snake through debris, Q1 is only one of the showstoppers at the expo's Prototype Robot Exposition, which aims to showcase Japan's growing role in the robotics industry.

Usually when the neighbor's dogs are around if she's outside she heads for a tree and stays until I come out an run the dogs off. They are young, maybe 6 or 8 months old and don't really want to hurt her, they just love to chase things. . .any thing that moves is fair game.
This morning I was out in the yard looking around, deep in thought, planning for next season when I heard what sounded like a short burst of air from an air compressor. I jumped and turned around to see what it was. There was my cat about 6 feet from the tree, back arched, hair standing out all over, and the two pups sidling off across the drive way. That short burst was a hissss from her. I shooed them off and started back to the door to let the cat in. Her attitude was soooo funny. She slowly turned around, tail straight up in the air and with a very casual air sauntered back to the door. You could almost hear her saying "don't run, don't run, don't run. They'll chase me if I run". | |
| | Autolite to other brands | | I have a commerical air compressor that has a V8 engine[Ford I think] with four sparkplugs on one side and an air manifold on the other side.It has autolite # 26 sparkplugs in it.How do I cross reference these to other makes,[such as AC or Champpion or NKG, etc].The rig has been sitting outdoors for a few years,It starts and runs at high RPM with the choke par out part way but stalls when it idles down under load as the pressure builds up.I think it needs a tune up. | |

I have an air compressor thats name plate says 28.5 amps, you multiply that by 125% to find your wire size, correct and then you multiply that 28.5 times 250% (inverse time breaker) to get your o.c.p. correct? | | i went back to the mall again today!!! | | hello all of my good friend's here at Mylot!whoo hoo! i went back to Opry Mills again this morning to purchase the boys a swimming pool that was on sale at the toy store of all places. it looks like a nice swimming pool, it is a big vinyl pool and i guess that i will have to get the air compressor out of the garage to inflate the thing with. lol i do not have that much hot wind to blow up the swimming pool. haha lol oh and i also purchased a bug net to get the leaves and bugs out of the swimming pool with. anyways, here is the deal on the swimming pool, the boys go to school in the morning for 3 hours only and when they get home tomorrow at 11 a.m., then i am going to surprise them with their new summer swimming pool! whoo hoo!so tell me, do you-all think that my kids will like their summer present that i got them today at the mall? btw, the swimming pool is like 120 X 62.[em]lol[/em]thanks for sharing and have a beautiful afternoon. | |
